Deborah P. Altman Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award
Do you know a current high school student with an exceptional interest in voluntarism? If so, please encourage him or her to apply for the Deborah P. Altman Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award!
The award is named for Deb Altman, a past president of the Junior League of Lancaster, whose life exemplified a commitment to volunteering, a love of children, and service to the community.
Winner(s) receive a $1,500.00 cash award and a $300.00 donation to a charity of the winner’s choosing.
In order to be considered as a recipient by the judging panel, which consists of members of the Grants Committee, all applications must be received by Monday, March 4, 2024. Questions and completed applications should be directed to Jess Rodriguez, Grants Committee Chair.
For candidates who are interested in applying, please click here to view and download the criteria to determine eligibility. When the 2025 Application Packet becomes available, which will include instructions and forms, the JLL will notify all local Lancaster County school districts via email.
Community Grant Program
JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LANCASTER SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR 2024 COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM
The Junior League of Lancaster, PA, Inc. (JLL) is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our 2024 Community Grant Program. The 2024 Community Grant Program will award grants to Lancaster nonprofits that address health, nutrition and food accessibility within our community. Grants will be awarded in value of $400 -$2,000 depending on project needs.
Evaluation Criteria
- Must be a Lancaster County nonprofit organization that focuses on health, nutrition, nutrition education, and food accessibility projects within the community
- Must have a current or proposed project that supports the health, nutrition, nutrition education and food accessibility focus area for the year 2024
Program Requirements:
- Check-in at the start of the program
- Report upon competition of the program
- Funds may not be used for:
- Debt reduction, operating deficits, interim or bridge funding or endowment funding
- Private foundations
- Activities that are religious or political in nature
- Fund drives, annual appeals, fundraising events, or general capital campaigns
- Funds must be used within 6 months of receival
Application Requirements
- Organization Information:
- Non-profit status documentation
- Organization’s mission statement
- Brief overview of the organization and evidence of its impact
- Additional Details
- Full proposal, including the organization’s plan and timeline for implementing the funds for which grant monies will be used
- If health, nutrition and food accessibility is not the entirety of the nonprofit mission, please provide information pertaining to the food accessibility-based programming that is offered
- The number of projects the organization plans to implement for 2024
Grant applications will be accepted effective Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
All application materials must be received by Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Grants will be awarded by Friday, May 31, 2024.
