A Century of Service: Junior League of Lancaster to Host Centennial Gala at Historic Fulton Theatre
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LANCASTER, PA – April 22, 2024 – In celebration of 100 years of community impact, the Junior League of Lancaster (JLL) is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated Centennial Gala. The gala is set to take place at the iconic Fulton Theatre on June 1st, 2024. For over 50 years, the JLL graced the stage at The Fulton Theatre with spectacular shows, transforming glamour into generosity. These performances not only supported renovations at The Fulton but also made a significant impact on local organizations.
Since its establishment in 1923, the Junior League of Lancaster (JLL) has been an integral part of the Lancaster community, leaving a profound and lasting impact. “As we commemorate a century of service, we reflect on the profound impact the Junior League of Lancaster has had on our community,” said Annie Hartley, a member of the Junior League of Lancaster and Chair of the JLL Special Events Committee. “The Centennial Gala is a testament to our dedication and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Sponsored by the esteemed Louise Steinman von Hess Foundation as the Centennial Presenting Sponsor and Woodstream Foundation, this milestone event will bring together active and sustaining members, community partners, and friends of the JLL for an evening of food, drinks, dancing, and live music provided by the Mama Tried Band. Catering for the gala will be provided by Cracked Pepper Catering, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Throughout its history, the JLL has been dedicated to identifying and addressing the evolving needs of Lancaster County. From preserving historical landmarks like Rock Ford to supporting the restoration of Wheatland, the league has played a vital role in shaping the cultural and educational landscape of the region. Today, the JLL is focusing on addressing Food & Nutrition Accessibility, seeking to combat the lack of access to healthy and nutrient-rich food while enhancing nutrition knowledge and dietary habits for all segments of Lancaster County’s population.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, we also look forward to the future and the continued impact we will make in our community,” said Hannah Funk, President of the Junior League of Lancaster. “The Centennial Gala is not only a celebration of our past achievements but also a symbol of our unwavering dedication to serving Lancaster County for many more years to come.”
The 100th Anniversary Celebration Gala marks the culmination of a year-long series of commemorative events, underscoring the JLL’s enduring commitment to community engagement and volunteerism.
