LANCASTER, PA (Feb. 19, 2021) – Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and kick off the running season with the Junior League of Lancaster during its 16^th annual Run4Luck. To ensure the safety of all race participants and volunteers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event will be held virtually March 13-17.   

“The decision for Run4Luck to be a virtual race was done with consideration of how the Junior League of Lancaster can safely serve, support and uplift our community while battling COVID-19,” said Angela Lutz, 2021 Run4Luck chair. “We applaud the frontline workers who have faced this pandemic with grace and courage and thank those who have stood by our side.”

Participants are encouraged to complete the 4-mile run or 2-mile walk any time March 13-17, and when complete, post your time to the Run4Luck Run Sign Up. Take pictures and share them with the League and we may share them through our social media channels.   

After all times are submitted, winners will be contacted and announced March 20 on the Junior League’s social media pages. This year’s prizes include gift certificates to Inside Track and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as a 3-month membership for a family of four to Universal Athletic Club in Manheim Township.

“Run4Luck is a signature Junior League of Lancaster event and has been a Lancaster staple for the last 16 years,” said Stacie Reidenbaugh, 2020-2021 Junior League president. “The run is organized by Junior League members who volunteer their time and talents to support the League’s program focus areas, including STEM and volunteer training.”

Early-bird registration is available now through Feb. 27. The cost for individual runners and walkers is $25 and $22 those participating in a team. Registration will remain open to March 17, at $35 for individual runners and walkers and $25 for team participants. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run is $10.

While all who register before 11:59 p.m. March 17, are guaranteed a shirt, only those who register before Feb. 27, are guaranteed its availability at bag and shirt pick-up. Those who register after Feb. 27, will receive a confirmation email on Thursday, March 11, if your shirt has been printed and is ready for pick up.

Drive-through bag and shirt pick-ups will be held at Lancaster Country Day School: 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 12, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 13. Shirts not picked up will be mailed after the event to the address provided at registration.
