LANCASTER, PA (July 31, 2018) – The Junior League of Lancaster, PA, Inc. (JLL) is pleased to announce its new President, Kate Lowry, and its 2018-2019 Board of Directors. Kate Lowry grew up in Lancaster, attended Washington College on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she studied Art History and is now the VP of Marketing for Listrak. Kate and her husband, Tyler, of 11 years have a nine-month-old daughter, Ellison and an 11-year-old black lab, Abby. When not at work or busy with Junior League, Kate enjoys running, working in the garden, spending time at the Chesapeake Bay and working on their farmhouse built in 1860. Kate is appreciative of the leadership opportunities that the JLL provides and is very much looking forward to this upcoming year to serve as the League’s President.
Fellow board members include Libby Caldwell, President-Elect; Hannah Funk, Parliamentarian; Debi Chen-Sloan, Recording Secretary; Michelle Dickinson, Treasurer; Amanda Funk, Nominating Committee Chair; Margaret Folk, Placement Committee Chair; Wendy Edmonds, Community Impact Vice President; Brittany Loeffler, Acting Communications Vice President; Leslie Buch, Membership Development Vice President; Elizabeth Payne, Fund Development Vice President; Barbara Gillis, Sustainer Board Chair.
Together the board has a combined 121 years of service in the Junior League, with eight women previously holding a board position and four being on the JLL Board for the first time. In total, the 2018-2019 JLL Board Members have been and are involved in 81 other non-profits in our community.
The JLL is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The JLL hosts various fundraisers which enable the group to support its community projects and programs.
On Friday, November 30, the JLL will host its annual Author’s Luncheon at Lancaster Penn Square Marriott featuring author Alice Hoffman, best known for her book Practical Magic, which was made into a film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
