2011 Red Rose Award - Amie Lawrence

Every year, the Junior League of Lancaster honors an Active member who exemplifies the spirit and value of volunteer service, and who went above and beyond the responsibilities of her placement. Active members are encouraged to nominate members who have shown initiative or have extended extra effort worthy of recognition. Any Active can is eligible for the award, except those currently chairing committees or sitting on the Board. The Red Rose Award winner receives free dues for one year.

This year's recipient has been a member of the Junior League since 1998. In 2004, she transferred her membership to the Junior League of Lancaster. During her time in the JLL, she has served on the Nite at the Races Committee, as a member of Project Development, on Run 4 Luck, on the Celebrity Waiter Dinner Committee, and as a Placement Advisor.

Amie Lawrence

2011 Red Rose Award Winner

This year, she was double placed on the Author's Luncheon Committee and on Placement. As the League plans for its future by updating and revising our strategic plan, she used her background in Industrial and Organizational Psychology to create a thorough membership survey that will help the League improve the membership experience for all of us, as well as for our future members.

The considerable amount of time she spent tweaking the survey questions resulted in a questionnaire that was not only thought-provoking, but was actually fun to fill out! The answers provided to the questions, and the thoughtful suggestions submitted by all of you, will help us to make an impact in the community, reach out to potential partners, increase awareness of the League in the community and reach out to new members. And as those members join us and lend their talents to our organization, our broader membership base will allow us to make an even greater impact in the community.

Her nomination form stated, "Her knowledge and expertise were critical to developing (this) useful tool." She also helped develop several placement policies that will help us reach out to current members and improve their experience in the League. Those of you who have had the pleasure of working with her are well aware of the professionalism, intelligence and unparalleled organization skills that she brings to any task that she undertakes.

Congratulations Amie, and thank you for all you have done for our League this year!
