"The Junior League of Lancaster is an organization of 300+ exceptional, hard working, active, sustaining and provisional members. We are committed to our mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Membership in The Junior League of Lancaster means being part of a talented, diverse group of women who value the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to their community while developing their own leadership potential. Our membership works to Frame the Future every day. 48% of our actives work outside the home and manage work, families and volunteer responsibilities. To each of you I say thank you for your devotion and desire to make a difference. The Junior League of Lancaster enhances your gifts, talents and skills to make a difference, " she said.
She added, "We are a retail shop that trains women in sales and marketing. We are a gift market that trains women in human resources, event planning and retail management. We are collaborators that train women in communication skills and teach them the value of working for causes that educate women and children. Since our inception in 1923, the Junior League of Lancaster has been a leading volunteer organization serving the community through volunteer hours and the funding of significant community projects. Just look around the city and see the impact of the Junior League. Envision life without Rockford, Leadership Lancaster, Deb's Crisis Nursery, or Hands On House; just a few of the non-profits we helped create. Our fundraising efforts continue to grow and expand. The success of our Annual Author's Luncheon and Run4Luck have allowed us to give more to the community. For every dollar given to the League, we are able to strengthen that gift with the added value of trained volunteers."
The Junior League of Lancaster is also constantly looking for new and innovative ways to serve the community. This year JLL is collaborating with our area Habitat to help with a Women Build Project on Fairview Avenue, Lancaster, PA. We are proud to be a part of this history making endeavor.
The Junior League of Lancaster is also supported by generous donors, corporations, nonprofit organizations, community partners and collaborators who help us make a difference. Thank you for your continued support, believing in our mission and our women and making a difference in our community. Together, we can continue to remain a valuable resource in our community!
We are looking forward to a rewarding year!
