Moms Helping Moms...Women Helping Women

Your Gently Used Treasures are Needed!

Is your home overflowing with maternity clothes, baby clothes, toys, and stuff?  I can help! Please keep me in mind if you ever want to purge baby items that you know you will not use.  I do porch pick-ups, and deliver the items to very needy moms who are getting their lives on track.  Many have social workers from the Healthy Beginnings Program at LGH.

You do not have to be home when I pick up your items.  Simply send me an e-mail and I will pick up the items: maternity clothes, baby clothes, baby toys, even household items that you no longer need (mix matched glasses, plates, towels, sheets, etc.).   Many of these moms are in need of very basic things as well as baby items.  I can always find a home for your gently used treasures!  Contact Stacey Wilson for more information.

Lancaster Community Foundation Needs Volunteer Community Grants Reviewers

"Road to Recovery" -  Drivers needed for our local Cancer Society

There are many cancer patients in our community whose greatest challenge isn't lack of treatment, but lack of transportation. The American Cancer Society has a program to help with this - "Road to Recovery."   A plea to our community is being made for new drivers for this program. There is currently a wonderful group of volunteers already driving patients to their treatments, but the need is steadily growing, and patients far outnumber volunteers.   Persons can volunteer for this program as much or as little as they desire. Drivers need to have a good driving record, a clean criminal background, and insurance. The volunteers can drive their own vehicles or share the two vehicles that the local Cancer Society received from donors for use in this program.

Interested persons are asked to contact the

local Cancer Society office at 397-3745 and ask for Kelly Edwards.

MILAGRO HOUSE, LANCASTER, PA

"One of my greatest pleasures is serving on the Board of Milagro House, a long-term education-based program committed to restoring the lives of homeless women and children.  This year one of our major goals is to
communicate more regularly with members of our community.  Because our printing budget is quite limited, we intend to add email communications into our mix.  Before we can do that, we need your help.

If you are interested in receiving our email correspondence, please let me know if we have permission to add your email address to our list.  If you'd like to receive our newsletters in the mail, please include your mailing address as well.  PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION

Thanks so much for your help.  I know you'll be amazed at Milagro House's success in helping homeless women build a bright future for themselves and their children!"

- Stacey Morgan
